Weekend Wrap Up
This past weekend was a pretty laid back weekend as planned. I had my Lake of the Ozarks trip last weekend and two Lake Michigan trips next month along with an All Star week of partying so this past weekend was my only real free weekend. With that said, I did go to the Cards game which is actually going to be my only scheduled game that I can go to this summer. It was a lot of fun but it was hot (and we have the worst seats for the heat due to no breeze) so we went to the Casino Queen section bar to hang out. We followed it with another bar tour by going to Al’s, PattyO’s, Side Bar and then Rue 13. We did go to Maurizos afterward which was good. It had been at least a month since I had been there.
I woke up Saturday with a nasty cold. My throat had been bothering me all week and it finally kicked in Saturday. I took it pretty easy by watching Role Models and a couple other movies then went to sleep early.
I did get some needed shopping in this weekend. I got some swimsuits like all the cool kids wear. I was happy because I found two that were my size and the store had buy one get one free. I also advantage of some super sales at Express. I got a couple ties for only like $6 each. Pretty good deals considering the same style of tie I bought there last year cost $50.
I did get a $300 special assessment notice in the mail this weekend for our condo. I was expecting it based on our last condo meeting. It is starting to be an annual assessment to do major improvements. Last year they redid the first floor by putting down a tile/carpet combo. This year they are installing an electronic key fob system at all the doors. I am super pumped. They are also installing better ventilation in the trash room, new hot tub covers, and new outdoor patio furniture. I think it is definitely good that they do this to improve the resale and stay competitive with other condos but it also can have a negative effect by now having two special assessments on our record. We seem to have one of the higher condo fees in downtown so not sure why we are not rolling in the cash.
