Weekend Wrap Up – Short Edition

This week was a very laid back weekend. I took off one of my “mandatory unpaid vacation days” on Friday so I had a nice 3 day weekend. My weekend consisted of sleeping a lot, playing video games, cleaning the house, and the Cards game on Friday. Sitting by the pool and watching a movie on Saturday. Doing laundry, shopping, washing my car, watching the PGA championship and other TV shows on Sunday.
So pretty boring. I did get a ton of sleep this weekend which was needed. Unfortunately, I did not even attempt the one thing that I needed to do so I have to get it started this week. I also went to the new Schnucks called Culinaria downtown. I was actually very impressed and prefer this size compared to other grocery stores. The reason I say that is that I do not need 10 brands of every items. For example, there does not need to be 30 feet of retail shelves for tomato sauce. Not only did I like the layout but I liked the prepared food section. I ate a couple great slices of pizza. The parking was also very convenient. Simple park in the garage above and a voucher for free parking prints with your receipt. The only negative I have is with the deli. They have only Boars Heads meat which is more expensive plus they do not carry super sharp cheddar which is my fav. I ran into this same problem with the Clayton Schnucks. The guy did turn me on to their new EverRoast chicken. I have to say it is pretty awesome. The guy told me it is flying off the shelf in their test markets. It has the taste of carrots, celery, onions, and parsley to give it a full meal kind of taste. Also, the place was packed. I went around 2 on a Friday so it seemed late for a lunch crowd but everyone seemed to be grabbing food. Not sure if this is just from opening or if these people will be return customers. If they are returning customers, Schnucks will be happy but also regret not opening sooner.
